It’s time for the annual SP-Studio Advent Calendar with daily updates! From December 1 until December 24 I will surprise you with new SP-Studio items. This blog post and the front page will be updatet every day and I will keep you informed on Facebook and Twitter as well.

Do you have a wish? You can request items in the blog comments or on Facebook and they might appear in one of the updates. I hope you enjoy the 24 surprises! The first one is a classic diving helmet.

Disney Princesses

The new year starts with an extra big update! I drew 22 new items based on the famous Disney heroines Ariel, Cinderella, Pocahontas, Mulan and Belle. A Snow White costume was already added in 2014, and I wanted to continue this “Disney princess” series because they are fun to draw and very popular. But I have to admit I am no fan of the stereotypical princess marketing. I like the original movies, so I focused on their typical outfits and not on princess gowns. In addition to the costumes you can use new facial expressions now, which will be useful for all kinds of characters. This is new:

4 hairstyles
3 clothes
5 lips
5 eyebrows
5 types of eyelashes (category: stuff/makeup)

Christmas time is present time! In the 8th year in a row I will surprise you with a fresh SP-Studio update every day until December 24th. And YOU can suggest what you would like to see. Write your requests in the comments and they might be included. I will update this post and the front page with the Advent Calendar every day, so keep an eye on it. Or you can follow SP-Studio.de on Facebook, Google+ or Twitter if you don’t want to miss anything.

The first new item for this year’s Christmas Special is a dress inspired by traditional Swiss fashion, as wished by my good friend Johanna. Initially I wanted to do another update about fashion from around the world, but decided to combine it with the Advent Calendar instead. I hope you like it and all the other things which are about to come next :).

I’ve got a little halloween update for you: a huuuge mouth full of sharp teeth!
It was supposed to be a shark mouth, but I guess it looks more like a random monster mouth… well, at least it is scary ;). This will be useful for everybody who wants to create a fitting halloween avatar or greeting card with the SP-Studio. If you need more inspiration have a look at this SP-Studio gallery. You can still rate and comment those picture for the halloween contest, which will end tonight.
Have a fun evening, collect some candy and watch good horror movies!

Animal month: Forest Animals

For the third animal related update I included parts of some local forest animals. Most of them were wishes by SP-Studio fans:

mouse ears
mouse tail
squirrel tail
bird beak (also good for dragons)
belly shape, useful for different animals
the old wings have custom colors now as well

Animal month: Safari!

The second “animal month” SP-Studio update includes 8 new body parts inspired by African animals. You can use them to create zebras, cheetahs, elephants… but they are useful for other animal characters as well, like tigers or walruses. Those are the new items:

stripes & points for the skin
paws as hands
trunk as a nose
cat mouth & elephant mouth with tusks
cat ears & elephant ears

My Little Pony invasion

I want to dedicate a whole month of SP-Studio updates to animals, so let’s start with a very popular species: The pony! I included 11 new items inspired by the cartoon My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic, developed by Lauren Faust.

Hooves as hands, a pony nose, a unicorn horn, wings and pony ears.
2 tails and 4 hairstyles inspired by main characters of the show.

And as a special bonus: A wallpaper!
I hope this little tribute is a nice addition for all bronies out there and will be useful for other types of animal characters as well. I designed the hair so you can even use it for human characters. You might wonder why there are no unique details like the cutie marks or colorful highlights in the hair. This is because I did not want to just copy one existing pony but rather find interesting parts for creative use. Special thanks to Twilight Sparkle, Fluttershy, Rarity and Pinkie Pie who posed as models :).

Snow White costume

Your SP-Studio character wants to feel like a classic Disney Princess? No problem!
Today I included the costume of Snow White, inspired by Walt Disney’s famous animated movie “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs” from the year 1937. I am sure the new items will be useful for many characters, because you can use most of them in different colors:

a new dress
a bow
a classic short hairstyle
smiling lips

New eyes with custom colors

From now on you can choose your own eye colors. I changed two of the most popular eye shapes, so you are able to select whatever color you like for the iris and background. This can help you to create an avatar that looks more like you or to build colorful monsters :).
And there is a completly new eye shape as well, which can also be colored however you like it: Manga eyes! Foy many years this has been requested by SP-Studio fans, and I never wanted to include it because I think they do not fit with the drawing style. But after South Park introduced Princess Kenny in anime sequences I gave it another try and I guess it might look kind of funny.
