While you could already dress up your characters as many different superheroes the most famous ones were missing… and I was asked for them a lot. I had their original logos in the old SP-Studio but wasn’t sure about the copyrights, and so I created unique logos now (they change all the time anway ;)). And you can select your own colors for alternative suits. These are the new costumes inspired by the most famous heroes:
- Superman suit
- Spider-Man suit
- Batman’s gloves and the two capes as seperate items
27 SP-Studio items have been added to the “special costumes” category!
This big update brings back many beloved costumes from the old SP-Studio in improved form: Fantasy outfits, superheroes, Halloween costumes, fake muscles, swimwear,… I used more shadows and highlights on some of them, but you can turn them off if you prefer the flat look. Of course you can also change the colors for everything. Three completely new costumes have been added as well. Black is beautiful, so I hope you like the dark outfits inspired by Black Panther, Darth Vader (Star Wars) and Yennefer (The Witcher). With Darth Vader and Black Panther I wanted to finally provide fitting shirts for the existing masks and Yennefer was chosen in a poll by my Patreon supporters.
16 special shirts and a helmet have been added to the SP-Studio!
They are costumes inspired by Star Wars, Star Trek, Harry Potter, Darkwing Duck, Masters of the Universe and Marvel. In addition to these classic costumes from the old SP-Studio (which have been updated) you will find three completely new ones: Son Goku (Dragonball Z), Donald Duck and the red Power Ranger! The Power Ranger comes with a fitting new helmet. All costumes come with custom colors… so you can build other Power Rangers as well. 🙂
Thanks to my Patreon supporters who voted for the new costumes! Another update with more special movie costumes will follow. Do you have any ideas for it? Write them in the coments!
36 dresses have been added!
With this update you get traditional fashion from around the world (Japan, Korea, Ethiopia, Switzerland, Hawaii…), red carpet fashion, school uniforms and dresses inspired by famous movies, videogames or tv shows (Star Wars, Titanic, La La Land, Sha-Ra, Game of Thrones, Super Mario, Disney princesses,…).
This category is complete now. So all the dresses from the old SP-Studio are back – but in improved form and now you can recolor them. Some of them also support switching off the shading to make them look different. Give it a try. 🙂
The second movie related update is online! This one was initially planned for the week before Halloween, but as I mentioned in my last blog post things in my private life went a little different than expected. When I made the plans for more movie fashion updates I did not know yet we’d have the chance to move houses earlier. In addition my new office was the last room to be ready. But now I am back and I want to give you at least a small update as promised. The Christmas Special starts tomorrow, so I am glad I still made it before December. 😉
These new clothes are inspired by two horror icons of the 80s: Chucky the killer doll (Child’s Play) and Pamela Vorhees (Friday the 13th). You can find them in the “shirts” category.
We are moving houses, so I decided to continue with a couple of small updates during October and November. You won’t have to wait so long for the next one, that’s a promise. 🙂 And you can make suggestions in the comments. My Patreon supporters chose the topic: Fashion inspired by Hollywood! But this time I don’t want to focus on superhero costumes or other very unique stuff. I will draw more casual outfits which can be worn by everybody so they are useful for all types of characters. And I might change some details to make them fit better with the SP-Studio. These are the first three of them:
- A striped suit with fitting pants inspired by Michael Keaton’s outfit in “Beetlejuice”.
- A 60s leather jacket / turtleneck combo inspired by Leonardo DiCaprio’s outfit in “Once upon a time in Hollywood”.
- A yellow dress inspired by Emma Stone’s outft in “La La Land.”
There was no picture contest this month (thanks to the GDPR), but I included wishes from the past winners for a mixed update. If you want to win a free wish as well you can join the next contest which will start in a couple of days. Give it a try! 🙂
- Custodian helmet / Bobby hat
(wish by Jareen2 for winning the Fight! contest)
- Town background inspired by South Park: The Fractured But Whole
(wish by Dottie H. for winning the Winter contest)
- Doctor Octopus tentacles
(wish by Léonard B. for winning the Oscar Movies contest)
- Black Panther mask
(wish by Art Vandelay for winning the Friendship contest)
The 10th annual Christmas Special has started! Wow, I am doing this thing for 10 years now… But for those of you who don’t know it yet: I will surprise you with 24 daily updates until Christmas. This means new clothes, hairstyles, backgrounds or any other item for the SP-Studio. This blog post and the front page will be updatet every day and I will keep you informed on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter as well. So make sure to come back to see what’s new. 🙂 And of course I am happy about any feedback. To be honest a comment is way better than a like because it’s something personal and I can work with it. So if you like an update or want to request something special for the future – feel free to write a comment! I usually choose the updates from requests of the past, the Wish Voting Gallery in the forum and my own ideas. The first update is a pet raven and this was a wish by contest winner legobasher.
The old Christmas Specials can be found here: 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016.
What were your favorite updates from 10 years?
Thank you for your patience while I had to take a break. But now I feel better and want to share this little update with you before the big annual Christmas Special starts on December 1st. Five wishes of past SP-Studio contest winners were included:
- Craig from South Park as a shirt motif (for Alex)
- Tigris of Gaul helmet from Gladiator (for gdmattman)
- New manga eyes (for Scott)
- Eyes with custom colored pupils (for Jareen2)
- Custom colored Spider-Man style lenses (for Jetpack-guy)
Don’t forget to vote for your favorite pictures to decide who should win the November contest! If you won a contest and your wish was not included here it might appear in the Christmas Special. Come back in December for daily surprises.
The final superhero update is online!
This is new:
- Doctor Strange: Costume (custom colors), collar, amulet, beard, belts
- Deadpool: Costume, leather straps, mask
- Wolverine: Costume, belt, mask, claws
These three Marvel costumes were chosen by my 5$+ Patreon Supporters in a poll. There were more favorites, but I picked the three which fitted the SP-Studio style best.
I hope you enjoyed the Superhero updates! 🙂
