The SP-Studio server is save, but the forum is offline for security reasons.

As you might have heard yesterday there was a big PHP security breach and many websites went offline to minimize the risk of being hacked. A security patch is available already and is installed on my server. But unfortunately it only works for new versions of PHP (8.2 min). The SP-Studio forum needs an older PHP version to run (8.1 max). I cannot risk using an unsafe version of PHP on the server because the SP-Studio has many visitors and you never know who might want to cause trouble. Since the forum has not been used much lately it’s the better choice to have it offline and the rest of the website secure.

I am sorry that there was no warning before the forum went offline! 🙁 I did not know the software only supports PHP 8.1 until now, so I wasn’t able to save anything. But nothing was deleted yet.
If you want me to save some of your pictures or texts I can do so later. Please write a comment here if this is the case.
There is the possibility for a security update for older PHP versions in the future. Or I can pay for the newer version of the forum software which support PHP 8.2. But I think the best we can do now is to wait a couple of days. This security breach is huge and I am sure there will be more news about how to deal with it soon.

The forum was not the only way to connect with the SP-Studio community.
There’s also BlueSky, Matodon, Facebook, Instagram and Jareen’s Discord fan server.
