Update: Multicolor hair

There are six new hairstyles that allow you to select a second color!

This has been requested many times and so I hope you like this new feature. The multicolor hairstyles are easily recognizable by their pink color. Of course, you can also use them with only a single color by selecting the same color twice.

For the first multicolor hairstyles I have drawn your requests from the Wish Voting Gallery and Patreon. But more will follow in future updates. Write in the comments for which existing hairstyles you would like to see colored highlights. You can see the name of a hairstyle when you click on it.

Huge rise in visitor numbers

Welcome, all you new kids from TikTok!

Recently I have been getting a surprising number of reports about loading issues. Then I realised that this is connected to a sudden increase in visitor numbers around mid-February. Seems like SP-Studio.de became a popular TikTok trend! As happy as I am about this it brings problems. My server could not handle so many visitors and boosting it is expensive. I created a help page asabout this. Update: I changed something on March 7th so the loading problems got better.

Update: Famous superheroes

While you could already dress up your characters as many different superheroes the most famous ones were missing… and I was asked for them a lot. I had their original logos in the old SP-Studio but wasn’t sure about the copyrights, and so I created unique logos now (they change all the time anway ;)). And you can select your own colors for alternative suits. These are the new costumes inspired by the most famous heroes:

Superman suit
Batsuit
Spider-Man suit
Batman’s gloves and the two capes as seperate items

The Christmas Special is over and I hope you liked the surprises I created you for. Now I wish you a merry Christmas and a happy new year!

2022 saw the 20th birthday of the SP-Studio, I drew several updates with new items and Lars brought back the text tool in better shape. I want to thank everybody who wrote motivating comments during this year, because they always brighten up my day. And of course there are the wonderful Patreon supporters and everybody else who donated for maintaining the SP-Studio. Since I am currently not running ads the donations are very important. Christmas Special 2022

From December 1st to December 24th daily updates are waiting for you! The beloved annual tradition continues, and I hope all of you are excited for the surprises I prepared for you. I will draw new clothes, places, hairstyles and other objects for this Advend calendar.

Again YOU can request new items for these updates! Upload them to the Wish Voting gallery and if I like them they will appear there. Then everybody can discuss them and popular ideas from the Wish Voting Gallery have a good chance to appear in the Christmas Special.

24 more “toys & sports” objects – and an Wish Voting update!

The annual Christmas Special is starting tomorrow and so I quickly finished the November update: Many old an new items related to sports, boardgames and retro consoles. I asked my Patrons about which new items they wanted to see and since they voted for games I drew chess pieces and a Nintendo GameCube controller.

There is also an update for the Wish Voting Gallery where I uploaded your requests for new items. During the Christmas Special I will select wishes from there, so make sure to comment on your favourite ideas and give them a heart! During December I will draw 24 daily surprise updates.

Update: Hobby tables

Six new tables for different activities were added as foreground effects!

This update was something I planned to do for a long time, because it will help to personalize your profile pictures even more with your favourite hobbies. The tables in the foreground are packed with a lot of different things, and I hope you like them! If you enjoy video games or just want your character to work on a computer this is now possible. But what about a trading card game or a jigsaw puzzle? They are included as well. Then there is this tasty kitchen scene for cooks. Of couese an artist’s table with colored pencils and a sketch book should not be missing. And finally I’ve been drawing a table with books, notes and a big cup of coffee for all of you who stay up late to read, write and learn. Every scene comes with custom colors for certain elements.

20 years of SP-Studio!

Let’s dedicate this month to celebrating the 20th birthday of this website! Follow the SP-Studio during Spetember for a special time travel experience:

2002, can you believe this? That’s a pretty long time! The SP-Studio is older than YouTube, Twitter or the iPhone. And I am still sitting here at the very same desk drawing updates for a project which I started while still in school. It has been really difficult sometimes, but I am happy I made it so far without giving up. While I cannot remember the exact month of the launch I know it was online by late summer. Update: Text tool & speech bubbles

You can now add text to your SP-Studio images!

Click on the “A” button and start to write. You can pick a font, color, size, format, rotate, lock or move it. In addition I have drawn some blank speech bubbles in different shapes which you can combine with your text. Visit the “Places” / “Foreground effects” category.

The text tool was the last big feature from the old SP-Studio which I was not able to bring back. But as always when it comes to coding Lars was there to help! Not only did he recreate the text tool but he improved it a lot. You can even use emojis, how cool ist that? With the new fonts and style options you will be able to create individual sports trikots, greeting cards or cartoons. Have fun!

Update: Pride pins

16 pride pins with different flags have been added!

Pride month might be over soon, but this does not mean representation should become less important now. To help you with this and to show my support for the LGBTQIA+ community I have been drawing pride pins for your SP-Studio characters. They can wear these buttons in addition to any clothes and of course you can add more than one by using the “lock” function.

The following pride pins are available now in the “more accessories” category: LGBTQIA+, LGBTQIA+ POC, LGBTQIA+ progress, transgender, intersex, non-binary, genderqueer, genderfluid, agender, pansexual, polysexual, bisexual, lesbian, demisexual, asexual and straight ally.
