SP-Studio remake: First look!

Time to talk about the current state of the NEW SP-Studio! I did not do this earlier because I wanted to wait until the important parts actually work. I already noticed a decline in donations, because of course you want to SEE that I am working on something. So I am very happy to tell you: We have a beta version!
Before I go into more detail I want to thank Kai Wegner who is helping me with the development. Luckily for me he is an absolute pro when it comes to the things the SP-Studio needs, like doing magic with svg files. Kai is coding the base for the SP-Studio remake in Angular2 and helps me to understand as much as possible for being able to edit it by myself. Since I am no actual coder there was no way for me to manage this without help, because building it in Flash was completely different.

I am on a little vacation so the current contest about CONSPIRACY THEORIES runs longer. You can submit your pictures until Monday (July 23rd)! As usual you can submit your SP-Studio picture on the CONTEST PAGE. Voting will start on Tuesday or Wednesday and run until August 2nd.
Congratulations to the winner of the last contest about ROCK STARS: Jetpack-Guy with his picture of Gene Simmons! Have a look at all contest winners in the HALL OF FAME.

80s cartoons #1: Masters of the Universe

Last year I included costumes inspired by famous Marvel and DC super heroes. Now I want to revisit some classic 80s cartoons. My 5$+ Patreon Supporters helped me decide which ones to pick and the first update will focus on one of their favorites: He-Man and the Masters of the Universe! 12 new items were included today, inspired by three beloved characters of this franchise.

He-Man: Hair, pants, “shirt”, belt, eyebrows, sword
She-Ra: Hair, dress, headdress
Skeletor: Mask, pants, “shirt”

The next update will be about a different 80s cartoon. I hope you enjoy the new items! Some of them are very nostalgic, like the Skeletor mask. But others can be useful for different types of characters.

Contest news (June)

After a little break for technical reasons there’s a new SP-Studio picture contest this month – and this time the topic is ROCK STARS! Show a famous musician (fictional or real) by using the SP-Studio and upload your picture until June 20th. Please don’t make up your own characters for this topic, it must be a famous rock star. There will be other contests with free topics for OCs.
As usual you can submit your SP-Studio picture on the CONTEST PAGE. There’s a new checkbox to inform you about the privacy policy but the rules have not changed.
Past contest winners can be seen in the HALL OF FAME.

Current gen consoles and some retro extras (as voted for by my 5$+ Patrons) have found their way into the SP-Studio! You can add them to your picture by visiting the stuff / toys & sports category. This is new:

Hurry! UPLOAD your picture about the topic FRIENDSHIP until April 20th to be part of the current SP-Studio contest. You can try to build two characters by combining, moving and spinning the parts in a creative way. Or you can just show a friend of a famous person / fictional character. Since this is a free topic you are also allowed to show what a good friend looks like to you personally.
Congratulations to Léonard Blanchet vor winning the last contest with his picture of Jules Winfield from Pulp Fiction! You can see the Top Five of past contests in the HALL OF FAME.
Meanwhile I am working on the SP-Studio remake and a new content update will be online this month.

Update: Winter fashion

Your characters won’t have to freeze anymore: This new content update adds more casual winter fashion to the SP-Studio! I had several ideas for possible updates and again asked my 5$+ Patreon supporters to pick one of them. This is new:

three short winter jackets
a long, pink coat
a classic yellow raincoat
a black turtleneck sweater
two knit caps

Regarding the SP-Studio remake:
It will take a lot of time until I can actually show something. But as soon as I am sure which features we will be able to include I will write a blog post about it. Thanks a lot to everybody who has supported the funding of the SP-Studio remake so far on Patreon or with a Paypal donation!

Did you watch the Academy Awards? Let’s create some creative SP-Studio artworks inspired by Oscar nominated movies! Pick any movie you like, the year and category of the nominations do not matter. But pictures about movies which were never nominated for an Oscars will be disqualified. You can use the lists on Wikipedia to check if a movie counts. Here are those for the Best Picture and Best Animated Picture categories. Please submit your SP-Studio picture for the Oscar contest on the CONTEST PAGE until March 20th.

The last contest about the topic WINTER was won by Art Vandelay and Dottie Holder. Congratulations! The winners can make a wish for a SP-Studio update. You can see the Top Five of past contests in the HALL OF FAME.
