The amazing new LOCK function

The amazing new LOCK functionThe new SP-Studio comes with a poweful feature that has not been a part of the old version. It’s worth exploring, because I know you will love it: The new LOCK button!
This button in the item menu lets you lock / unlock any item. While usually items in one category automatically replace each other a locked item is not replaced anymore. If you select something else from the same category it will be placed in addition to the first item. If they share the same space on the stage they will stack on top of each other. Here are some examples of the possibilities this new function offers:

  • You can wear any shirt on top of any other shirt to create your own fashion. In the old SP-Studio this was only possible within the “freestyle collection” for three layers, but now it works for every item.
  • You can combine different earrings or necklaces.
  • You can select more than one foreground effect to create rainy weather with a snow storm on top.
  • How about combining different hair-styles to add a pony tail to your braids?
  • You can even build multiple characters in one picture by adding different bodies, eyes and mouths.

For me this is a dream come true because it offers so many new possibilities to be creative with the SP-Studio. 🙂

That’s actually what I tried to explain with this blog post 😀 But I will try to explain it more detailed:
    1. You add one body and lock it with the new button in the item options.
    2. This allows you to add a second body withour replacing the first.
    3. Then you can move both bodies to have them stand next to each other.
    4. You can repeat this with different mouthes, eyes, hair-styles, clothes…
It’s easy to use when you see it. It’s just a bit difficult to explain. 🙂
There is just one limitation: The same item cannot be added twice. So you will have to pick different bodies, mouths and eyes for your characters.

This blog post is about features for the new SP-Studio. It will launch on December 21st, so this is why it is not working yet. 🙂

The old SP-Studio slowly stops working on many computers because of missing Flash support. You can still install the Adobe Flash plugin, but this is the reason why a new SP-Studio is coming.

This is an old post from last year.
Now the new SP-Studio is launched and the lock button is there. Just click on an item after you added it to your picture – then you see the lock button. 🙂
It replaced the “freestyle collection” from the old SP-Studio. This is not needed anymore.
