Thanks. I'm going to keep practicing using different lighting angles and shit so it doesn't look like I just added bevel and emboss to a rushed rendered character in photoshop without taking away the whole "cartoon" aspect of South Park's design.

I use the polygonal lasso tool for drawing in shapes, like the blue on Batman's Mask and his cape and I shade by creating a new transparent layer and drawing in either white or black lines with the paintbrush tool and then blurring them with a combination of the Smudge tool and Gaussian Blur filter, then I use the Eraser tool to get rid of anything that goes outside the "lines".
