  • My Hogwarts Diary: A Ravenclaw's Tale

    September 1st

    Dear Diary,

I can't believe it! It actually happened! One minute I was staring out my bedroom window in Alpena, Michigan, wishing with all my might that I could go to Hogwarts, and the next...POOF! I was standing in a bustling hallway filled with kids in robes, all looking as bewildered as I felt.

My heart hammered against my ribs. This couldn’t be real, could it? I pinched myself. Ouch! Yep, definitely real. The air crackled with magic, a feeling I’d only ever dreamed of experiencing.

A stern-looking woman with a tight bun and spectacles approached me. “Are you quite alright, dear? You seem a bit lost.”

“I… I think so?” I stammered. “I’m Tony Maroj, and… well, I wished I could come to Hogwarts, and now I’m here.”

She raised a perfectly sculpted eyebrow. “Indeed. Well, Mr. Maroj, follow me. We’ll get you sorted.”

Sorted? That sounded promising! She led me through the crowded corridors, the sheer scale of the castle was breathtaking. Gargoyles perched on ledges, portraits whispered secrets, and the air hummed with untold stories. It was even more magnificent than I imagined.

Finally, we reached the Great Hall. It was even more spectacular in person. Four long tables stretched across the room, filled with students wearing robes in different colors. At the head of the hall sat a long table with teachers, and in the center, a wizened old man with a long silver beard – Albus Dumbledore himself!

My breath caught in my throat. I had read about him in countless books, but seeing him in person felt like stepping into the pages of a legend.

The stern woman – I later learned she was Professor McGonagall – called my name. My legs felt like jelly as I walked to the front. She placed a rather tattered hat on my head. It was the Sorting Hat!

A voice echoed in my mind, "Hmm, another Maroj. Curious. Very inquisitive mind, plenty of knowledge, potential for greatness... but also a touch of laziness. Where to put you? You value intelligence, wit, and learning... yes, I see it now. RAVENCLAW!"

The hall erupted in applause as I practically skipped to the Ravenclaw table. I took a seat next to a girl with bright blue eyes and a pile of books taller than her head. “Welcome to Ravenclaw!” she chirped. “I’m Eloise Finch.”

I grinned. “Thanks! I’m Tony Maroj.”

The feast that followed was incredible. Mountains of food appeared on the tables, seemingly out of nowhere. Roast chicken, potatoes, gravy, pies… you name it, it was there. I ate until I thought I’d burst, all while soaking in the magical atmosphere.

After the feast, a prefect led us to the Ravenclaw common room, a beautiful circular room with arched windows overlooking the grounds. It was filled with bookshelves, comfortable armchairs, and a calming blue light.

Before collapsing into bed in the dorm room I’d be sharing with four other boys, I wrote this entry. I’m actually at Hogwarts! I can't wait to see what tomorrow brings. Hopefully, I'll get to learn some spells! I wonder if Eclipse misses me? I hope he's okay without me.

Goodnight, Diary. Tonight, I dream of magic.
