It's beautiful! I love the colors and contrast.

And it doesn't matter if you trace or use other ways to get started. Creating someting and havening fun is the important part about art. :)

And I have some good news for you! :) Well... good news for Eggyslav , bad news for Tommy Souden :(

My workload this week is huge, so I struggle with my time for SP-Studio updates. It's been some tough months and I feel weak when I don't get enough sleep. So my husband actually told me to stop working so much and at least take one weekend off. He is right, I really should do this. So to keep my sanity I won't be able to finish 40 items for the music category this week. I will switch to a smaller update with some selected "special shirts" (most likely focused on history / sci-fi). So the plan changed a bit:

    7.2. shirts: some special costumes

    14.2. objects: all music instruments

I am sorry for Tommy, but unfortunately I cannot plan my daily work ahead and so the SP-Studio updates depend on how things go.

    Update: regular shirts complete

40 items have been added to the “shirts/long sleeves” category!

This category is complete now. I improved many drawings, you can recolor them - and as a bonus I added three new open jackets. Since you can combine any items with the new SP-Studio it makes sense to give you more open jackets to combine with any shirt you want.

Because some visitors did not notice or understand the new lock feature I added an info box about combining items. Remember you have to add the bottom shirt first, then lock it and then add the jacket.

The funny thing is... I actually thought about this. :)

I let my Patreon supporters vote which item they want to see with the toys section and this was one of the options. But they voted for something else...

    Maybe in a later update.

(... and welcome to the forum!)

Things might still change but my current plan for updates looks like this:

31.1. shirts: the rest of the regular long sleeves and maybe dresses

    7.2. objects: music

    14.2. shirts: special costumes

21.2. objects: more objects (= mixed stuff)

    28.2. objects: toys & sports

Every update will bring back the items from the old SP-Studio and include at least one completely new item.

This week I will have very little time for the SP-Studio, so I plan to finish the missing regular shirts since it is realistic to get this done until Sunday. Next week it will be a category of objects (music seems to be popular). And the week after this I want to finally start with the special shirts.

    Update: tools & weapons complete

72 items have been added to the “objects/tools & weapons” category!

This category was missed by many SP-Studio fans, so I am happy to bring it back. The drawings for all items were improved and custom colors were added. And there are some surprises! The longsword can now be used in the hands. And I added four completely new drawings:

    • a new realistic looking pistol
    • a new regular shield
    • a better katana
    • a better chainsaw

    Update: hats complete

61 items have been added to the “accessories/hats” category!

As I already wrote in the forum my plan is to release an update every weekend until all the old items are back. This time I focused on the hats. The category is now complete, all drawings were improved and recolor options where added were it makes sense. But I don’t want to risk boring you with just old items – so with every of these weekly update you can expect at least one new item as a little surprise. This time it’s pretty useful: A hoodie hood! The excisting hood was more suitable for robes so I decided to give you something more casual for your characters to wear. You can combine it with a shirt of your choice and of course recolor it.

Just the two tinfoil hats are missign because it is not possible to use bitmap textures anymore.

Great. :) And here is an even improved version:

Lars worked hard on this today and this newest approach looks best on our devices. It has good loading times in the beginning, and the thumbnails of the categories load better than in the version I posted earlier today.
The trick is that the different parts of the page load in single steps now. While the rest is still loading you already see the SP-Studio logo and stage. Please ignore the "jumping" footer - this will be fixed.

Good news! Lars is testing changes on the the loading behaviour. Now the thumbnails don't load in the beginning, but when you actually enter a category. This should lead to faster loading in the beginning. But you will have short loading times every time you enter a category instead.

I am not sure yet if this is a more comfortable way to do it. So please test it and tell me about your opinion:

Since I haven't received any information so far I changed the title of this topic from "bug" to "loading times". As long as I don't get any data that points in a different direction I assume that a slow internet connection might be the reason for the problems. Then it would not be an actual bug, since the SP-Studio is just big and the slower the connection the more annoying are the loading times in the beginning (if it is just the beginning...?). Lars will look for a way to load parts later, but for now I can just recommend for mobile devices to launch the website while you have a good connection. You could then keep it open in the background while your connection gets slower.

You can still help by providing information about loading times and download speed.

How about a little offtopic discussion about your favorite discoveries during those months at home? While the pandemic lead to many bad things at least we got some time to watch movies and read books. :)

For me my favorite movie experiences of the year were TENET (I'm a long time Nolan fangirl) and HAMILTON (no love at first sight, but it grew on me with every rewatch and I listened to the soundtrack a lot). On Netflix I loved the second season of THE UMBRELLA ACADEMY and started watching the German mystery series DARK. How about you?
