Day 10: A checkered tie was added today because it was a popular request from the Wish Voting Gallery.

Day 9: Open wide... For everyone who, like me, is eagerly awaiting the Stranger Things finale, I have drawn a Demogorgon mouth as today's surprise.

Day 8: Remember the disco ball from two days ago? It's got company! This new indoor background with disco lights fits it perfectly.

Day 7: You asked for platform shoes and here they are! The shading can be turned off and of course they can be recolored. If you prefer high boots I recommend to combine them with the laced boots by using the "lock" button.

Day 6: This new disco ball sparkles in every color you can imagine!

Day 5: For the professional medical treatment of your characters, there is now a whole set of differently shaped adhesive bandages available. All sticky plasters can be recolored and the shading can be removed to make them work better with different skin colors.

Day 4: A new shirt! There were already turtlenecks in the SP Studio, but until now none of them covered the mouth. This one does. It was another popular Wish Voting request. And don't worry if you don't like the zipper - you can easily hide it by recoloring it and deactivating shading.

Day 3: Knock knock. With this new foreground effect it looks like your character is standing behind an open door. You can move it and combine it with any background to create interesting scenes.

Day 2: There were a number of requests for a cardboard box that can be worn over the head. So it was added to the hats category today! Of course you can also spin it to let your character stand in the box. Use it to dress up as your own present or to hide from your family.

The 17th annual Christmas Special has started and the advent calendar is full of new clothes, hairstyles and other items for your characters. Most of them will be based on requests from the SP-Studio community. Visit the Wish Voting gallery to discuss your favorite update ideas or to upload your own. As usual, all SP-Studio updates are available completely free of charge. But a nice comment in return always cheers me up.

Just in time for the Christmas special

Custom color options for 20 indoor places were added today!

This is the second part of a big update for the background sceneries. It started with the outdoor places in September and now it’s time to recolor the floors, walls and furniture of the indoor places. I hope you enjoy this new creative freedom! There are also some eastereggs hidden beyond the corners of some of these rooms… maybe they are bigger than they look like?

Think of classic fairy tales or fables like the ones about Cinderella, the three Little Pigs or 1001 nights. Or legends like the Nibelungs, king Arthur or the monkey king Sun Wukong.

- NO ancient Greek / Roman mythology (this will be a separate topic)

- NO modern Fantasy literature from the 20th / 21st century (like Lord of the Rings)

But all other countries and centuries count. You are allowed to base the look of your character on a modern film (or game or cartoon) IF this film is based on a classic fairy tale. You can show a modern interpretation of any character or your OC dressed up like a fairy tale character.

Please remember: You are only allowed to use the SP-Studio, so do not edit with additional software (no cutting, drawing or filters). Don’t resize your picture. Of course it must be your own creation.

Rules for uploads: When you upload your picture, please add a fitting TITLE and your NAME! Use the same name for all your uploads. Names like anonymous, idk or me are not allowed. Too many use them.

Jury members are not allowed to talk about what their pictures are before the voting phase is over.

Happy Halloween! Do you like creepy clowns? 🤡

My treats for you are 15 new items, inspired by iconic horror films. They will be useful for all kinds of clowns and monsters. The costumes belong to Pennywise (Stephen King’s It, 1990 & 2017) and Art (Terrifier, 2016).

From Silent Hill to Lavender Town… Create a SP-Studio picture based on a horror game or any creepy video game moment.

This will be a fun challenge for Halloween season! From experience I know Freddy is very popular, so you might want to pick something more unique. You can recreate a character, scene or cover art from the game – or show somebody playing it. Pictures about creepypasta are allowed as long as they are about a specific video game.

Custom color options for 24 places were added today!

Until now, you had no control over the colors of outdoor places, but that changes with this update. I added custom color options for 24 of them, which is something I planned to do for a long time. It brings many advantages. For example you can remove snow from snowy landscapes, change the sky from daytime to nighttime or make the colors of buildings match your personal taste. Give it a try, and I am sure you will find many ways to use this new creative freedom.

You can expect a similar update for the indoor backgrounds in November – and a Halloween related update in between.

Dress up your character in alternative fashion styles like punk, goth or hippie!

Any subculture with a unique style counts. You can use OCs (your own made up characters) or recreate famous characters.

Examples: Beatnik, biker, emo, flapper, goblincore, goth, greaser, grunge, heavy metal, hip hop, hippie, hipster, lolita, punk, raver, rockabilly, scene, skater, surfer...
