I don't know... the pictures will be difficult to compare if there is no topic. And if we do this everybody can create his best picture and the contests after this might be really boring. And I think it's part of the challenge to have a topic the picture must fit.
When I did open contests on my South Park fanpage most people complained about it, because they wanted to have some kind of topic. So I would like to stick to it.

All the old contest pictures are in the gallery now. This was a lot of work, thanks to Stiftnuersel for helping! :well: The usernames and description are still missing, but I can't do this too. So if you want them back the moderators must edit them.

And I am installing a better anti spambot tool right now! ;)

[Blocked Image: http://www.planearium.de/sp-studio/forum/styles/absolution/imageset/ZiBboardNewM.png] If there are new postings the SP-Studio character is reading a newspaper. So when you visit the forum you know which topics you need to read and which can be ignored because they don't have new replys.
It is the same with the gallery: A reading character means there are new images in this album you have not seen yet.

[Blocked Image: http://www.planearium.de/sp-studio/forum/styles/absolution/imageset/ZiBboardMimportant.png][Blocked Image: http://www.planearium.de/sp-studio/forum/styles/absolution/imageset/ZiBboardNewMimportant.png] If the topic was marked as "important" by me it has an exclamation mark. Important (or "sticky") topics are always shown on top of the others, even if they don't have new replys. I do this if I want everybody to read it.

[Blocked Image: http://www.planearium.de/sp-studio/forum/styles/absolution/imageset/ZiBboardMlocked.png] This means the topic locked. You can read locked topics, but not reply to them. A topic is locked if there should be no discussion (like the "board rules") or because it will be deleted soon. Usually there won't be many locked topics.
The old contests in the gallery are locked too.

I hope this explained it :).

Let's continue with the monthy SP-Studio contests! This time the topic is AMERICA (or Americas) and you can upload your pictures to the contest album in the gallery. Go there and click the "upload image" button. We already had contests about Asia and Europe before, so now it's time for the American continent. Create a SP-Studio picture which shows something typical for an American country or the whole continent. Remember there are more countries than the U.S.A. ;). For example Brazil, Mexico, Canada, Argentina, Venezuela, Peru, Jamaica, Chile, The Bahamas and Cuba. You can make pictures about celebrities, historical events, the landscape and animals, traditions, funny stereotypes, cities, famous movies or politics. So there should be enough possibilities. Tip: The challenge of the contests is to use the existing SP-Studio items in a creative way. It might help to use them not like they are meant to. Remember you can move them by clicking on them.

    RULES:

    • The picture must be created at sp-studio.de and submitted here till March 15th, 11:59 PM (GMT+1).
    • No editing with additional software! No effects, color change, zooming, rotating. Just SP-Studio pictures.
    • Add a fitting English title & description (optional). You can link to reference pictures. No text like "VOTE!!!".
    • If you upload more than one picture for a contest the newest counts and the others are deleted.
    • When the voting starts registered users can rate the pictures (1-5 stars) till March 31th.
    • Vote fair! Don't manipulate results by telling friends to give you 5 stars and others 1 star or you will be banned.

    PRIZES:

1st place: Make a wish for a new SP-Studio item and I will draw and include it within a month.
1st to 5th place: You win your own User Gallery. If you already have one you can upload 30 more files to it now.
Janina's Choice: I might pick one additional person, if I think he/she deserves a user gallery. The score doesn't matter.

Last update of this list: 08/2022

I installed two helpful new plug-ins for the forum:

    Picture Resizer
Now you can include pictures with a size up to 1.200 x 1.200 pixel in your posts (using the [img] tag). Pictures bigger than 600 x 600 pixels will be resized and can be zoomed to their original size by clicking on the little magnifier symbol.

    Announcement box
From now on you will never miss important SP-Studio news, because the box on top of the board index will tell you about them.

And the memberlist is now sorted by rank + number of posts instead of registration date.

It would be nice to know what you think about the movies you watched :).

Chronicle ist shown at a movie festival and I think about watching it there... is it worth it? I liked the trailer.
No spoilers please ;). If I don't watch it on the big screen I will buy it on DVD.
