Contest 06/2023: MODERN VIDEOGAMES (since 2013)

Back in 2012 we had a “modern videogames” contest. So it’s the perfect time to cover the past 10 years in a new contest! Pick one video game published since 2013. You can recreate a character from this game, the cover art or a recognizable scene. Sorry, no OCs this time. Your random Sims 4 character does not count unless you add more typical game elements. It’s best to pick a famous character.

Please remember: You are only allowed to use the SP-Studio, so do not edit with additional software (no cutting, drawing or filters). Don’t resize your picture. Of course it must be your own creation.

Rules for uploads: When you upload your picture, please mention the videogame in the TITLE! Otherwise your upload will be disqualified. It's useful to mention the character name in the title as well. And enter your NAME! Use the same name for all your uploads. Names like anonymous, idk or me are not allowed. Too many use them.

The rules are as always:

1. CREATE a SP-Studio picture about the topic of the month
   
2. UPLOAD your unedited picture until the 20th
   
3. VOTING will start on the 21st (jury votes count x2,5)
   
4. THE WINNERS will be announced at the start of next month

Current stats:

• 200 SP-Studio pictures were uploaded so far.
• 141 of them count (there might still be some double entries by the same person though).
• 59 were disqualified (most of the time because they were not about a specific game released after 2013).

Don't forget to mention the specific game, not the franchise. Otherwise I don't know if it fits the topic about games released after 2013. For example "Sonic Frontiers" would be a Sonic game that counts. Just "Sonic" does not count.

There are many different games so far, it's much fun to look through the pictures!

The most popular game franchises are Super Mario and Five Nights at Freddy's.

While Super Mario is a bit boring because there are many Peaches and Marios with the same costumes, FNaF has many interesting characters to offer. So my tip is to avoid Mario and Peach.

Markupedia When you registered with your e-mail address you can edit pictures and their titles later. But I am not sure if this works when you did not create a PollUnit account. There is a Resident Evil picture by a "Mark" - is this you? Then it has a title. If I recognize a game I sometimes add the title myself.

The vote has started!

Have a look at the many different games and how they were reimagined in the SP-Studio.Click on the i icon on a picture to see the titles. This will be very helpful to know which videogame the picture is about. You can sort by title to group all pictures abou the same videogame.The creators names will be revealed after the vote to make the jury vote fairer. But if you are no member of the jury you are allowed to talk about your picture.

This time there are 205 pictures in this contest.

From 445 uploads 240 were disqualified:

41 were no SP-Studio pictures

33 were double entries by the same person (which is allowed)

166 were disqualified for different reasons - mostly for being OCs or not mentioning the title of the game
