You're right about the names. - And I didn't know about the different names for Fuchur. I did some research and it seems the German author of the original story based the name on the Japanese word for "good luck dragon". Then the Spanish variant is a phonetic approximation of the German one, while in Italian a version closer to the Japanese one was chosen. In English a completely different name was chosen, because it sounded to much like "fuck you".

In Polish we have the "Falcor" version.

To me "Falcor" sounds strange. It reminds me of a falcon and Falcor doesn't look like a bird at all but rather like a dog. Maybe something like "Retrievor" would have been more fitting.

Now that I see the other Fraggles it seems I misinterpreted the protrusions on Red's head. I believed them to be some sort of fur-covered antennae but they simply seem to be some kind of bunches.

or as they called it there: Die Bremer Stadtmusikanten. It has been a while since I went to Bremen, we used to go and visit family there and go to the freimart there.

Probably fairy tales are more likely to be universally known than other parts of cultural life I tried so far.
