Kenneth George "Kenny" Baker (24 August 1934 – 13 August 2016) was an English actor and musician. He is best known for portraying the character R2-D2 in the Star Wars science fiction movie franchise.

His final role would also be R2-D2 in The Force Awakens

actually carrie finished episode VIII before passing i dont know if kenny did though. because carrie passed on her way back from her final filming

Kenny wasn't inside R2 in The Force Awakens - he was there as a consultant only - and it seems that that was the last film he was involved with.

With all the celebrity deaths I forgot for a moment that he died as well...

It's a heartwarming picture to remember him.
