Christmas Special 2019

The 12th annual SP-Studio Christmas Special has started! I prepare 24 daily updates to surprise you with new clothes, body parts, background images or accessories. The advent calendar at the bottom of this blog post will be updated every day until Christmas, so make sure to keep an eye on it. Or you can follow the SP-Studio on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter to be informed when a new item is live.

The first update brings Crime Scene Tape as a new foreground effect!

I’m happy about your feedback, so feel free to comment or write an e-mail. You can also make wishes what you want to see in this year’s Christmas Special. Did you know for the first Christmas Special back in 2008 over 2.000 E-Mails with wishes were sent to me? And if you really like it you can help me a lot by supporting this project with a small donation. I hope you enjoy the surprises I prepared for you this time!

The old Christmas Specials can be found here: 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018.

SP-Studio Advent Calendar

  1. Hi Janina, can you please make a new freestyle clothing selection? I would love to see a floor- or ankle-length sleeveless evening gown, maybe with some light beadwork on the bodice, the kind Lady Mary would wear on Downton Abbey. Thanks!

  2. The freestyle selection won’t get a bigger update until the new SP-Studio release (because it’s too time consuming and I want to finish the new version next year). But I will keep those things in mind for then.

  3. Hello Janina how about some new music instruments like tambourine, maracas, I would mostly like a trombone please

  4. In that case, could you create a Napoleonic-era Royal Navy uniform? You can look at how Russell Crowe is dressed in Master and Commander for inspiration. If you can throw in the hat, that would be great.

  5. Both wishes will go on my list, thank you for your feedback. :)

The trombone might be difficult because it’s very long and the characters so short… but I like the tambourine and maracas a lot.

  6. I wish for the following:

A green goblin mask from the first Spider Man movie

    Steel drums

    Princess Daisy costume and hairstyle

  7. I’m thinking about maybe a pair of Muary Thai ropes? The kind that Muay Thai boxers use to wrap their hands for knuckle and wrist protection.

  8. I wish for rabbit ears as an extra body part piece, and a long fluffy twintails with front hair bangs for a new hairstyle.

The reason why I wish for it is because I was working on making Laffey from the mobile game Azur Lane.

  9. A tentacle body part, so I can make Slender, or Venom. Also, I would like a witch hat, and droopy dog ears, like on a basset hound. I also think it would be cool to get Wario and Waluigi hats.

  10. As far as masks go, how about a full face coverage mask? Let’s say if you wanted to make your character wear a morph suit.

  11. Custom colors for a lot of objects will come with the new SP-Studio. But it’s not worth adding this right now, because the current system is way more complicated. So I avoid custom color updates for the old SP-Studio.

  12. Even just the rabbit ears and the alternate twintail hairstyle (with anime-styled bangs) will do?

  13. Rabbit ears are already in the “hats” category. But I could add a anime hair-style :) Do you mean something like Sailor Moon? Two long tails and bangs?

  14. Ah, more like Hatsune Miku’s hair style but you can also put the ribbons separately if necessary.

  15. In the bottom row of “special hair styles” there is one that looks similar to Hatsune Miku’s hair style. I guess the bangs make the difference?

  16. Sure. Some of the hairstyles look interesting, but I have to admit I did not have much contact with the show and now it’s already quite old. I don’t think I’d do a whole update for it. But I can see it as part of a mixed update, for example with the topic “modern cartoons”.
