Superheroes #4: Patreon selection

South Park x Marvel crossover SP-Studio updateThe final superhero update is online!
This is new:

  • Doctor Strange: Costume (custom colors), collar, amulet, beard, belts
  • Deadpool: Costume, leather straps, mask
  • Wolverine: Costume, belt, mask, claws

These three Marvel costumes were chosen by my 5$+ Patreon Supporters in a poll. There were more favorites, but I picked the three which fitted the SP-Studio style best.

I hope you enjoyed the Superhero updates! :)

Superheroes #3: Avengers

South Park x Avengers crossover SP-Studio updateMore costumes inspired by famous superheroes were added to the SP-Studio! My Patreon supporters chose Captain America and Iron Man in a vote (by the way – you can still participate) and I added Thor to make it an Avengers themed update.
New items include:

  • Iron Man: Armor and helmet
  • Captain America: Costume, mask, shield, utility belt
  • Thor: Costume, helmet

The next update will be the final one of the superhero series.

Superheroes #2: Wonderful

Suth Park x Wonder Woman crossover SP-Studio updateThis update focuses on Wonder Woman! Not only because of the current movie, but also because this character has to offer a couple of useful accessories. I decided to not only include her clothes, but also the weapons and hair. The belt, whip and armring will be useful for other SP-Studio characters as well, and so I made them into extra items. But that’s not all there is for DC superheroes. You can now build The Green Lantern with existing items and the new logo. The update includes:

  • Wonder Woman’s costume, belt, hair, armring and tiara
  • Her weapons of choice: Shield, sword an whip
  • New shirt symbols for the DC superheroes Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, The Flash

Right now I run a poll for my 5$+ Patreon supporters where you can choose which superhero costumes you want to see in the next updates.

Superheroes #1: Guardians

Suth Park x Guardians of the Galaxy crossover SP-Studio updateFor ages my visitors have asked me for superhero costumes, and now your wish shall be granted. This is the start of a couple of updates with costumes inspired by famous superheroes. For the start I picked the Guardians of the Galaxy, because their second movie runs in theaters just now. This is new:

  • Rocket Raccoon inspired clothes, tail, face fur and white whiskers
  • Star-Lord inspired clothes and mask
  • Gamora inspired clothes
  • Baby Groot :)

You might ask for Drax now. I want to split the content in several small updates, so each of them has 3 costumes. Baby Groot was a bonus because it’s no actual costume. So Drax might come later – or other heroes, because there are a ton of them to choose from. Let’s see what will be included next. :)

From cyborgs to space marines

South Park cyborg armor updateThe first SP-Studio update in 2017 brings futuristic armor for your characters!

My Patreon supporters were allowed to select the topic for this update in a poll and this resulted in “cyborgs”. So I designed 4 different types of body armor and fitting helmets. The goal of this update was to give you the freedom to combine those parts and be creative, no matter if you want to make a robot, super hero or space marine. You can select your favorite colors and turn shadows and highlights on and off for each of the new items. This feature might come to the rest of the freestyle collection in future updates as well. I improved two of the existing helmets to give you more freedom in how to color them and finally the freestyle collection was cleaned up to make it easier to find what you need.

Super Mario tribute

Super Mario tributeAfter the Disney Princesses and Star Wars these are the final costumes in a row of pop culture inspired SP-Studio updates. When it comes to iconic video game characters nobody can compete with Super Mario. So I drew this tribute to Mario and Luigi. My Patrons voted for the Nintendo characters they wanted to see. And check out the Princess Peach dress and hair as well, which was already included a while back.

The new items are:

  • Mario’s and Luigi’s hats
  • Luigi’s beard (Mario’s was already included)
  • overall in custom colors
  • a new nose in custom colors

I fixed some bugs as well: The U.S. flag works again and some noses were moved.

Star Wars inspired costumes

Star Wars South Park style“Star Wars: The Force Awakens” was a surprisingly good sequel to one of the most popular movie frachises. And it did a great job in introducing new characters even the hardcore fans liked. So I included costumes inspired by three of them to www.sp-studio.de. Unfortunately it was too difficult to draw BB-8 in SP-Studio style, so I focused on Finn, Rey and Kylo Ren.

The new items are:

  • 3 shirts
  • 2 hairstyles
  • 1 mask

Disney Princesses

Disney princesses South Park styleThe new year starts with an extra big update! I drew 22 new items based on the famous Disney heroines Ariel, Cinderella, Pocahontas, Mulan and Belle. A Snow White costume was already added in 2014, and I wanted to continue this “Disney princess” series because they are fun to draw and very popular. But I have to admit I am no fan of the stereotypical princess marketing. I like the original movies, so I focused on their typical outfits and not on princess gowns. In addition to the costumes you can use new facial expressions now, which will be useful for all kinds of characters. This is new:

  • 4 hairstyles
  • 3 clothes
  • 5 lips
  • 5 eyebrows
  • 5 types of eyelashes (category: stuff/makeup)

Traditional costumes (1)

Traditional costumes from around the world - South Park styleThis is the start of a couple of small updates about “traditional costumes from around the world”. This topic was picked in a poll by my 5$+ Patrons. I decided to split the update into smaller ones, so you can still suggest iconic clothes for the next updates in the comments below.

Today four new clothes were added to the SP-Studio:

  • traje de flamenca (from Spain)
  • gho (from Bhutan)
  • kasaya (robe of Buddhist monks)
  • hanbok (from Korea)

My Little Pony invasion

MLP:FIM goes South ParkI want to dedicate a whole month of SP-Studio updates to animals, so let’s start with a very popular species: The pony! I included 11 new items inspired by the cartoon My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic, developed by Lauren Faust.

  • Hooves as hands, a pony nose, a unicorn horn, wings and pony ears.
  • 2 tails and 4 hairstyles inspired by main characters of the show.

And as a special bonus: A wallpaper!
I hope this little tribute is a nice addition for all bronies out there and will be useful for other types of animal characters as well. I designed the hair so you can even use it for human characters. You might wonder why there are no unique details like the cutie marks or colorful highlights in the hair. This is because I did not want to just copy one existing pony but rather find interesting parts for creative use. Special thanks to Twilight Sparkle, Fluttershy, Rarity and Pinkie Pie who posed as models :).

Snow White costume

South Park Snow WhiteYour SP-Studio character wants to feel like a classic Disney Princess? No problem!

Today I included the costume of Snow White, inspired by Walt Disney’s famous animated movie “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs” from the year 1937. I am sure the new items will be useful for many characters, because you can use most of them in different colors:

  • a new dress
  • a bow
  • a classic short hairstyle
  • smiling lips

Feathers and curtains

Mixed SP-Studio updateI got a new mouse after my old one was broken, so it’s update time again! Finally I was able to finish this mixed update with wishes from SP-Studio fans:

  • sword on the back (contest wish)
  • Fullmetal Alchemist uniform (contest wish)
  • red curtains as a new foreground
  • native American feathered headdress

contestIf you want to win the chance to have your wish included in the SP-Studio join the monthy picture contests. The current topic is LITERATURE and you can submit your picture until April 20th. The winner is chosen by vote. You can join the contest here, and here you can read more about how it works.

Doctor Who costumes

Doctor Who costumesA new update is online, inspired by BBC’s DOCTOR WHO!

After drawing Sherlock I wanted to do something related to another popular British tv show. Many fans asked me for a Doctor Who costume, but it was difficult to pick a doctor. Everybody seems to have another favorite. So I decided to do all the three “new” doctors in one update. Three hairstyles and two suits were added and I hope everybody is happy with this :).

  • 9th Doctor (Christopher Eccleston)
  • 10th Doctor (David Tennant)
  • 11th Doctor (Matt Smith)

Sherlock costume

Sherlock Holmes costumeWhat’s the best thing that happened this year so far?
New episodes of BBC’s SHERLOCK!

I felt like Benedict Cumberbatch as Sherlock Holmes was a good inspiration for a SP-Studio update. Not only because he is very popular, but also because you can use those items to build other characters as well. So I hope you like the five new parts, even if you are no fan of the show.

  • mouth
  • dark coat
  • scarf (custom colors)
  • eyebrows (custom colors)
  • short, wavy hairstyle (custom colors)

Freddy Krueger Costume

Freddy Krueger costumeToday I have Freddy Krueger’s glove and burned skin for you to celebrate Halloween.

“Nightmare on Elm Street” is one of my favorite horror movies of all time and I got asked a lot about those items. So here they are! :) I am sure the burned skin can be useful for all kind of creepy characters.

Update: Devil May Cry

UpdateThis is the final video game costume for a while. You voted for Dante from Devil May Cry, and so I included his hair-style and clothes. I picked this version because it seems to be the best known und unique one. Sorry if you prefer the new Dante, but I had to choose one ;).

So what’s next?
I am working on a mixed update with all kind of stuff, so feel free to make suggestions. Ideas which are useful for many of my visitors are welcome. Trendy hair-styles and clothes, items for popular sports and other hobbys, background images you miss a lot… but no too special things and costumes this time. I will use the Wish Voting Gallery for inspiration as well. You can vote and comment on ideas there.

Update: Princess Peach

PeachYou voted for her, so here is her costume: Princess Peach, well known from Nintendo’s Super Mario games.

I included her long hair and the pink dress.

Unfortunatley there is one little problem with this costume… long hair-styles always cover the puffed sleeves. This is something I cannot change easily, because the SP-Studio items are layered in a strict order. But I will try to find a solution someday.

The next and final videogame related update will be Dante from the “Devil May Cry” games. You voted for it, so I will draw this costume for you :).

Update: God of War

God of War costumeMore than 600 votes so far and we have a clear winner: 44 % want a Kratos costume from the “God of War” games. So here you go! I included:

  • Blades
  • Armor
  • Tattoo
  • Pants
  • Belt

You can still vote for the 2nd and 3rd place, which will be drawn by me during the next couple of days. Right now it looks like Peach and Dante will be chosen, but you have still time to change this.

Update: Metroid & HALO… and a vote

blog_version4.09_03After some Sony related videogame items my new update is based on the two biggest Action heroes from Nintendo and Microsoft: Samus Aran (Metroid) and Master Chief (HALO)!
It took me a while to draw those detailed costumes, but now their iconic body armor and helmets can be found in the SP-Studio and I hope you like them.

There will be one more “videogame costume update” in about a week, but this time you decide what I should draw. Cast your vote in the sidebar!

Update: Buzz!

Buzz! UpdateIt has been a while, but as promised here is another video game related
update:

Because I like the look of the main character in the PS3 game “Buzz! Quiz World” I included his hair-style and glasses in the SP-Studio. I hope they are a useful addition, not only for Buzz, but also for your own characters. And di you notice he ist Canadian?

The next update will come sooner (that’s why this one is so small). I am as sick of those huge breaks between them as you are ;).

Update: Inspired by the PlayStation…

Inspired by Sony’s announcement of the PS4 I drew some parts from famous PlayStation characters of the past. I tried to pick items which can be useful for multiple reasons and not only for building a copy of ths particular character:

  • Solid Snake’s shirt, bandana and hair-style, inspired by the Metal Gear Solid games
  • Crash Bandicoot’s smile and “beard”
  • Sephiroth’s hair-style and shirt from Final Fantasy VII
  • The dress and hat of the main characters from Journey

Missing your favorite game? I have planned more gaming related SP-Studio updates for the near future.

PlayStation Update

Huge Anniversary Update!

Anniversary UpdateNew items for every category! To celebrate the 10th anniversary of this website I prepared an extra huge SP-Studio update. 22 new clothes, hair-styles, fashion accessories and body parts are waiting for you. And because it is the release date of Diablo 3 today some objects are inspired by the Lord of Terror himself. I hope you enjoy the update! :)

And please remember: If you want to support the SP-Studio and help it stay alive for another decade every little donation is welcome. Thanks a lot to everybody who already helped me to keep this project going!

Update: Assassin’s Creed costume

Assassin's Creed UpdateAs promised I try to draw new items every weekend:
This time it is a very detailed costume of a famous video game character. When it comes to gaming related requests there is one I get a lot: An Assassin’s Creed costume. And of course I listen to you (…most of the time ;)). I included it today and hope you like it. This is a nice costume for many historical characters, so it will be useful for nongamers too.

In other news: The voting for the current contest has started, so check out the great pictures submitted for the topic MALE MUSICIANS. Register a nickname to rate them till October 31st. If you want to join the contests you have to wait till the next one starts on November 1st.

Hollywood Weeks: More Movie Outfits

SP-Studio Hollywood Weeks

The final “Hollywood Weeks” update is online! I drew 17 new items, inspired by 9 famous movies:

Hollywood Weeks UpdateThe big Lebowski: Walter’s clothes
Bruce Lee / Kill Bill: shirt and pants
Cleopatra: makeup, dress and haircut
Frankenstein: screws and haircut
The Mask: hat with optional feather
Star Trek: shirt symbol and hands
Star Wars: hood
Stephen King’s It: clown costume
Titanic: Rose’s dress and necklace
…and an Oscar to hold in your hand and pretend to be a famous superstar :)

Many of those items have mutiple colors and I hope they are useful for you. I picked things which can be used in many ways (that’s why there is no Darth Vader mask, it would be boring ;)). Most of them are based on your wishes.

So that’s it – the SP-Studio Hollywood Weeks are over! 50 new items. Now I will take a little break. But if you still need more movie stuff join the SP-Studio community. Voting for the current contest “Sci-Fi movies” starts tonight.
And of course I am looking forward to your feedback. Did you like the movie related updates?

Hollywood Weeks: Disney Dress-Up

SP-Studio Hollywood Weeks

Disney’s animated movies are special, especially the old classics. So I decided to focus this movie related update on some of their famous characters. I picked Belle, Merlin, Tinkerbell, Ariel and Pocahontas, because parts of them could be intersting additions to the SP-Studio. This time it’s not only clothes – there are even tattoos, jewelry, beards and fairy wings, 13 new items!. You can see all of them in the picture below and they are marked with a star in the SP-Studio.

Hollywood Weeks Update

Those characters are from the Disney movies The Little Mermaid, Pocahontas, Peter Pan, The Sword in the Stone and The Beauty and the Beast. My reference pictures. Copyrights for them belong to Disney, I just do fan art.
I hope you like the new items! And remember there will be even more soon, my Hollywood Weeks are not over yet :). So you can still make suggestions on movie related updates.

Hollywood Weeks: Movie Outfits

SP-Studio Hollywood Weeks

The SP-STUDIO HOLLYWOOD WEEKS continue with a 2nd movie connected update.
This time I drew some famous costumes for your characters:

Hollywood Weeks Update

Here is a reference picture. I tried to pick something for everybody: From Jack Sparrow to Tyler Durden, from classic to new. There will be more movie outfits soon, so THIS is your chance to tell me which costumes you would like to see in the SP-Studio. Write an E-Mail or suggest them in the comments.

SP-Studio Hollywood Weeks: Red carpet

SP-Studio Hollywood Weeks

Hooray, finally I can tell you what I was working on the last couple of weeks! The “SP-STUDIO HOLLYWOOD WEEKS” have started! This means during the next couple of weeks there will be several movie relaed updates. And the first one is already online:

Hollywood Weeks Update

Eleven new dresses and one background! I drew them after original dresses worn by famous actresses at the Oscars. Here is a reference picture in case you want to see where they come from.
I hope you like those new clothes. Many girls asked me for some nicer dresses, and I hope that’s something for you :). I tried my best to draw them as detailed as possible.

Let’s see what the next Hollywood update might bring… it will be online in the next couple of days, so check back for more. And of course I am always happy about some feedback.

Update: Fifa Worldcup

Soccer UpdateOkay, you got me… Because of the upcoming wold cup in South Africa I got so many requests for football shirts, that I decided to do this one (and it will be the only one EVER, so don’t even think about asking for more sports wear! :) ) special update. I drew them for all 32 teams, so every fan should find a fitting shirt for him now. You can combine the shirts with the text tool to add numbers and there’s a fitting background too. I hope you like it!

And regarding the world cup:
Recently I made a video for the German Acapella band “Basta” They recorded a funny song about the different teams. It’s in German, but perhaps you want to check it out anyway.
Basta – Gimme Hope Joachim (Video drawn & animated by me, Janina Himmen)

And I have some good news for the ones who can’t stand soccer at all: I am still working on another mixed update for the SP-Studio, which just needs more time.
