Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween!I’ve got a little halloween update for you: a huuuge mouth full of sharp teeth!

It was supposed to be a shark mouth, but I guess it looks more like a random monster mouth… well, at least it is scary ;). This will be useful for everybody who wants to create a fitting halloween avatar or greeting card with the SP-Studio. If you need more inspiration have a look at this SP-Studio gallery. You can still rate and comment those picture for the halloween contest, which will end tonight.

Have a fun evening, collect some candy and watch good horror movies!

Animal month: Safari!

South Park animalsThe second “animal month” SP-Studio update includes 8 new body parts inspired by African animals. You can use them to create zebras, cheetahs, elephants… but they are useful for other animal characters as well, like tigers or walruses. Those are the new items:

  • stripes & points for the skin
  • paws as hands
  • trunk as a nose
  • cat mouth & elephant mouth with tusks
  • cat ears & elephant ears

Which animal parts do you want to see in the upcoming updates for this month?

My Little Pony invasion

MLP:FIM goes South ParkI want to dedicate a whole month of SP-Studio updates to animals, so let’s start with a very popular species: The pony! I included 11 new items inspired by the cartoon My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic, developed by Lauren Faust.

  • Hooves as hands, a pony nose, a unicorn horn, wings and pony ears.
  • 2 tails and 4 hairstyles inspired by main characters of the show.

And as a special bonus: A wallpaper!
I hope this little tribute is a nice addition for all bronies out there and will be useful for other types of animal characters as well. I designed the hair so you can even use it for human characters. You might wonder why there are no unique details like the cutie marks or colorful highlights in the hair. This is because I did not want to just copy one existing pony but rather find interesting parts for creative use. Special thanks to Twilight Sparkle, Fluttershy, Rarity and Pinkie Pie who posed as models :).

Snow White costume

South Park Snow WhiteYour SP-Studio character wants to feel like a classic Disney Princess? No problem!

Today I included the costume of Snow White, inspired by Walt Disney’s famous animated movie “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs” from the year 1937. I am sure the new items will be useful for many characters, because you can use most of them in different colors:

  • a new dress
  • a bow
  • a classic short hairstyle
  • smiling lips

New eyes with custom colors

Anime eyes for your avatarFrom now on you can choose your own eye colors. I changed two of the most popular eye shapes, so you are able to select whatever color you like for the iris and background. This can help you to create an avatar that looks more like you or to build colorful monsters :).

And there is a completly new eye shape as well, which can also be colored however you like it: Manga eyes! Foy many years this has been requested by SP-Studio fans, and I never wanted to include it because I think they do not fit with the drawing style. But after South Park introduced Princess Kenny in anime sequences I gave it another try and I guess it might look kind of funny.

Sherlock costume

Sherlock Holmes costumeWhat’s the best thing that happened this year so far?
New episodes of BBC’s SHERLOCK!

I felt like Benedict Cumberbatch as Sherlock Holmes was a good inspiration for a SP-Studio update. Not only because he is very popular, but also because you can use those items to build other characters as well. So I hope you like the five new parts, even if you are no fan of the show.

  • mouth
  • dark coat
  • scarf (custom colors)
  • eyebrows (custom colors)
  • short, wavy hairstyle (custom colors)

Freddy Krueger Costume

Freddy Krueger costumeToday I have Freddy Krueger’s glove and burned skin for you to celebrate Halloween.

“Nightmare on Elm Street” is one of my favorite horror movies of all time and I got asked a lot about those items. So here they are! :) I am sure the burned skin can be useful for all kind of creepy characters.

Pharaoh costume

SP-Studio update: Egyptian PharaohToday’s update is inspired by history:

With the new hat, beard and jewelry you can dress up your SP-Studio characters as an Egyptian Pharaoh. You can even rebuild the famous death mask of Tutankhamun by seletcing a golden skin tone.

And another classic costume is already in the making, so it will be online in time before Halloween :).

Update: Buzz!

Buzz! UpdateIt has been a while, but as promised here is another video game related
update:

Because I like the look of the main character in the PS3 game “Buzz! Quiz World” I included his hair-style and glasses in the SP-Studio. I hope they are a useful addition, not only for Buzz, but also for your own characters. And di you notice he ist Canadian?

The next update will come sooner (that’s why this one is so small). I am as sick of those huge breaks between them as you are ;).

Update: Inspired by the PlayStation…

Inspired by Sony’s announcement of the PS4 I drew some parts from famous PlayStation characters of the past. I tried to pick items which can be useful for multiple reasons and not only for building a copy of ths particular character:

  • Solid Snake’s shirt, bandana and hair-style, inspired by the Metal Gear Solid games
  • Crash Bandicoot’s smile and “beard”
  • Sephiroth’s hair-style and shirt from Final Fantasy VII
  • The dress and hat of the main characters from Journey

Missing your favorite game? I have planned more gaming related SP-Studio updates for the near future.

PlayStation Update

Update: Happy Halloween!

Halloween UpdateWelcome to the SP-Studio Halloween Update!
I felt like drawing some creepy new items for this holiday. Like many other videogamers out there I am waiting for the final episode of Telltale’s amazing “The walking Dead” game right now, so this update is focused on zombies:

  • A bat
  • Intestines
  • rotten teeth
  • Ripped out eye
  • Messy short hair
  • Tattered shirt
  • …aaand candy!

Update: Eyebrows

Eyebrow UpdateFot this update I included nine new shapes of eyebrows in multiple colors. They will improve the facial expressions of your characters. And if you enjoy building celebrities, friends or family members they can help to create a better likeness. Most of those eyebrows were inspired by requests from the Wish Voting Gallery. Join the SP-Studio community if you want to suggest your own ideas fur upcoming updates!

Huge Anniversary Update!

Anniversary UpdateNew items for every category! To celebrate the 10th anniversary of this website I prepared an extra huge SP-Studio update. 22 new clothes, hair-styles, fashion accessories and body parts are waiting for you. And because it is the release date of Diablo 3 today some objects are inspired by the Lord of Terror himself. I hope you enjoy the update! :)

And please remember: If you want to support the SP-Studio and help it stay alive for another decade every little donation is welcome. Thanks a lot to everybody who already helped me to keep this project going!

SP-Studio Christmas Special 2011

Like in the last three years I prepared a big Christmas Special for you. From December 1st till December 24th there will be revealed new SP-Studio items every day. You can see the whole Advent calendar here or follow on twitter, Google+ or Facebook. I hope you enjoy those surprises! Spread the word if you want to support the SP-Studio :). Let’s start with a nice marching drum. Additionally I fixed an annoying bug with the colors of makeup and fashion accessories.

Advent Calendar

And as usual you can make your own suggestions as well. What’s your wish for new SP-Studio items? No matter if it’s your own hair style, celebrity clothes, a toy, a hat or background. Tell me about it!

Update: New types of eyelashes

Beauty UpdateLefiou, winner of the last SP-Studio community contest, asked for long, colorful eyelashes. So here they are!

The closed eyes can be found in the “eyes” category. The other ones are in “stuff” > “face” and can be combined with other makeup to create your own look.

Update: Colorful masks & glasses

Halloween is over, but I got some new masks and glasses for you. One part of this was a wish by Caribou, winner of the last SP-Studio contest. I changed some of the masks and glasses so you can pick different colors for them. Here are some examples and I hope this is an useful update:

Glasses & Masks Update

Wish Voting Weeks: You can choose new items!

I’ve got new SP-Studio stuff for you! This time there is no special topic and no limitation to a certain category. In the upcoming weeks there will be several updates with all kind of items. What do they have in common? They are all based on wish voting wishes of my visitors. YOU can make suggestions and vote for what you want to see in the SP-Studio.

If you already are a member of the SP-Studio community, you know how “Wish voting” works. But let’s describe it for the newbies: Click on “community” and register a nickname. Don’t worry, it’s for free of course. Then you can suggest new items for the SP-Studio by uploading pictures of clothes, hair styles or whatever you think would be useful. The other members rate your wish (1-5 stars) and can write comments. Please use the search before you upload something, because there might be a similar wish already. I will choose some of the best rated wishes and edit this entry whenever I add new things to the SP-Studio. Of course they will be announced on the front page of sp-studio.de too, so you won’t miss anything. If you want to know first if new objects are online follow me on Twitter or Facebook.

First update, 7.7.2011:
Wish Voting Update

  • shirt with cut off sleeves (dassenasse’s wish)
  • tears in eyes (SnowyBowser’s wish)
  • fishnet stockings (jellyfish’s wish)
  • ball & chain leg cuff (ViralMonster’s wish)
  • panda hat (SnowyBowser’s wish)

Let’s see what other updates you will choose, I hope you will enjoy the wish voting weeks!

SP-Studio Christmas Special 2010

This year’s Christmas Special has started! Each day until Christmas I will draw one new SP-Studio item. They are based on your wishes so write your requests in the comments or use the Wish Voting area in the SP-Studio Community. But please rerember the few things I cannot include (read about them here). I hope you enjoy the surprises. Let’s have a look at the Advent Calendar which will be updatet every day. The first new item is already there: a nice hat for cold winter days.

  • face piercings and more earrings, which can be combined
  • 9 glasses and you can pick your own color for most of them
  • a better leather jacket and flannel shirts in different colors
  • 2 weapons, 2 shields and a nice Scottish Bagpipe
  • different tails, bird wings, a flashlight, a candle, a brush, a billard queue, a dumbbell, pliers and a piece of paper

Additionaly an Italian translation of the help text was added. Thanks to Mark Meilak! If you want to translate this text for your own language too, I would be happy to include it.

I hope you like this mixed update and there is something for everybody. As you might have noticed some of the new objects were chosen because they were suggested in the community wish voting and got good reatings. So if you have a request – post it there and maybe you’re lucky as well! The wished which are included were moved to the archives now and the votes are reset. Let’s see what will be chosen for the next update.

Update: 27 beards

It’s time for the beards! I drew as many as I could think of, so everybody should be able to recreate his very own manly facial hair now. You can even combine different beards, for example you can add a beard from page 1 and another one from page 2. And of course you can change the color or move them around like the other parts in the SP-Studio.

SP-Studio Christmas Special 2009

It’s December 1st – and so this year’s Christmas Special can start!
I got so many nice requests that it will be difficult to choose only 24 of them. But I will try my best to draw useful new things, and of course you can still write down your wishes here in the comments. The surprise for the first day is a saxophone, because that’s the music instrument most of my visitors wished for for a long time. I hope you like it! I will update this Advent calendar every day when I add a new item to the SP-Studio, so don’t forget to check it out tomorrow :).

Advent Calendar

PLEASE remember: NO different body shapes! I have explained so many times, why I will never include this… please stop asking.

SP-Studio Christmas Special 2008

The first big SP-Studio Christmas Special starts today!
I will draw one new item every day till Christmas, and you can send me your wishes. The first new part is a classic Christmas scene as a background. Many wished for that and I think it’s a good way to help you design your own Christmas cards. But what will be next…? Have fun with the 24 updates and keep checking back for what surprises the next days will bring!

By the way, I was overwhelmed by the number of e-mails I got. More than 2.000 wishes were sent in until now for this Christmas Special, and yes, I read every single one of them. It’s very hard to choose 24 items to draw, so please do not be sad if your request isn’t picked. I have already decided to work on special themed updates in January to add more of your great ideas. So keep on wishing :). By the way: I have fixed some small errors as well (layer problems with the masks, bracelets, ties and text tool).
