Mainly Classical. My ever favourite composer is Mozart, although I sometimes like to listen to specific composers. Now for example, I'm in the mood for Schubert's Military March, or Rossini's uverture to Wilhelm Tell... Speaking of which, I just LOVE the opera: The music, the decorations, the costumes, That fantastic atmosphere of sophistication and elegance.... :sigh:
Apart from that, I listen to whatever i find pleasing, that is EVERYTHING. Well, maybe except Techno and other crap like this...

My computer froze, so I must have accidentaly hit submit when I was punching my computer to fix it. Either that, or my computer is acting gay again.

Barely, I chewed off my arm just to have SOMETHING to do while this was down. Actually though, I was thinking of quitting and was going to join to say goodbye, but i decided "fuck no", and rejoined.

Hey guys, I noticed that some of the later posts were un-related to the topic, and were just one-word responses or smiley faces...
I know I'm not a full mod, just a mod trainee, but I want everyone to abide by the rules and stay on topic.:finger:
Let's get back to the topic, okay? =)

Anyways, have any of you ever played an instrument before? Even if it was just for a short time? (Singing counts! Your vocal chords are, in fact, an instrument! ;))

Damn straight!

Yeah, I've been playing in bands since I was sixteen. Started out on guitar then began singing in public around age eighteen, though it took several years before I was any good. I MUCH prefer singing to playing guitar, since I'm naturally much better at it (after more than ten years of playing guitar, I'd describe my skill level as "competent but clumsy", whereas I'm a pretty good singer), so in my last band I stopped playing guitar altogether to concentrate on vocals.

Don't have nearly enough free time to play in a band at the moment though. I still do the odd solo show for pocket money, but Proper Work has had to take priority recently. :(

Not much that I ever want to dredge up again. ;)

Someone posted this up on my facebook the other day though, it's a video from a local open mic night a few weeks ago. I'm first on, just doing a couple of covers (and the first one is pretty ropey). Watch from about four minutes in if you want a rough idea of what I usually sound like.

Sound and camera are pretty crappy, as you might expect. When I get off my arse and do some proper recording like I keep meaning to I'll let you know.

Umm, I suppose I should post a video of me playing.

This was with my band (which I left since the drummer was a complete dick-end), we were supporting a band at a local pup (this band hadn't even played a gig yet, this was our 4th and last, I believe). I'm on bass and lead vocals (singing every 1st line). I'm not much of a singer though, but this was our best performance.

I wish I had a video with me playing more complicated stuff, I only really have to play 6 notes in that song excluding fills.

Also, I do a sweet Waters-esque pig squeal around the 3:50 mark.
