Still not joined....just no Idea. Every try failed. its annoing ....

33 actually, but I think 3 of them have nothing to do with the topic...

The voting starts at midnight after Thursday (March15th). This is the first contest in this new gallery, so there might be strange things happening... but I will be online to fix it if it doesn't work like it should. For example the standard setting is you are allowed to rate but not to comment the picture during the contest. I will try to change this.
Let's just hope everything works .

I'm sure it will go swimmingly, but us Mods will be there ready to jump into action.

I submitted a picture, but Im not happy with it, well lets see...

the worst thing about the contest is the "new" voting funktion. I really miss the 5 stars. I hope everybody knows how to vote so far.

I am working on changing the voting system back to stars till Friday. It's very complicated for me, because I have to edit code I don't understand - but perhaps I can get it working . It's worth a try.

If everything works like it should you can not see the names of the uploaders yet.
Right now you cannot comment on contest entrys before the contest ends. I haven't managed to change this yet, but I am still trying...

It's good to hide the author and even the current puntuation of the picture, but I think that the description should be shown (but moderated to erase clues about the identity of the author). It may help to understand the picture.

I also should put the rating and comments upwards and the image url and image BBcode at the bottom because they are less useful.

And yes... unsurprisingly... a Joker appeared...

The descriptions should be visible, but many did not add a description to their submission. I think some of them just submitted a random pictures...

Edit: Okay, ist seems to be a general problem. The contest settings don't want you to see the descriptions... I need to change the PHP code for this (as well as for allowing the comments) and I cannot get it working. Does anybody here knows how to code in PHP?

Edit: Good news, I found myself a PHP helper! He will have a look at the files. So you just need a little more patience. But at least the voting works.

The first contest in the new gallery worked - we have a winner! And it seems like it was fairer this time, because we had less "down voters". The good pictures have better ratings now. But remember this was only the first contest and the rating system is still the complicated one without stars. So we did not have many voters. But I am sure this will change when the changes to the voting system are made.

I did miss being able to comment durring the contest. I hope some sort of middle ground will be found for how the old contests were set up, and how the new contests will be set up...
