I don't have a strong opinion either way and I certainly don't know enough about economics to predict what would happen should Scotland become independent, but it's certainly a lot more complicated than just "brainwashing". The fact they had a vote at all is progress, and the fact that the vote was so close is surely going to have huge ramifications.
Generally, I'm in favour of less borders, not more. But I can certainly see the appeal of escaping Westminster government; god knows I'd be more than happy if all of Westminster just got swallowed up by the ground.
