-nine, and he hadn't written or recorded anything of note for over 25 years. If you're not a seriously hardcore Slayer fan, I don't see any reason to get all weepy over his death; we've not exactly lost someone at the peak of their powers here.
(I mean, come on, the guy was nearly fifty, he drank like a fucking fish and did a ton of cocaine all throughout his life, and he died of liver cirrhosis. That's not a tragedy, that's just what happens.)
