Ancient Egyptians Believed that Man has two kinds of spiritual entities, ba, the soul, and ka, "personality". After death, ba went to the Amduat, egyptian underworld ruled by Osiris, while ka remained on earth. Monumental Pyramids and Tombs were actually houses for Pharaoh's ka, which to survive needed it's body. If the corpse decomposed, ka of the deceased would be doomed, thus Egyptians developed the art of mummification. Here, after removing the dead pharaoh's entrails and leaving the body in soda for 70 days to dessicate, a priest, wearing ritual mask of Jackal god Anubis, wraps pharaoh's body in linen bandages. After that, the mummy will be put in a sarcophagus, and then, along with many treasures, it will be put in a tomb.
