Is this picture based on the book "Into The Wild" by Jon Krakauer?
If it is, it looks great!

Very loosely, yeah. Christopher McCandless wasn't an anarchist and he wasn't eaten by a polar bear, but the inspiration for the picture came from his story.

Yeah that's true.
From what I read in the book, his death was caused by starvation...
It's still awesome though.
Into The Wild is one of my favorite's.

It's a fantastic story, and I can understand why so many people see him as an inspiration but this picture is an admittedly sarcastic comment on his plight all the same. I mean, I know from watching Q.I. that if you eat pretty much nothing but rabbits then you'll starve to death quicker than if you eat nothing at all, so I guess that sums up my attitude to the idea that we should shun modern society altogether - I did get that particular nugget from the T.V., after all, whereas a whole bunch of people learned it from bitter, short-lived experience. I get where he's coming from theoretically, but I'll be damned if I'm about to recommend everyone just fucks off to the wilderness with a tent having not done their research.

Yeah he didn't even have a compass or any kind of supplies....people even offered to give him stuff and he just said no to everything... :drop:
If he had a map, he would have known that there were cabins with emergency supplies stored inside not too far from the little bus he kept shelter in...and there was a bridge about a mile and a half down from where he was stranded when the river got deeper and wider.
He definately lacked common sense...

Back to the picture, I also like the way you made the shadows around the flag pole and where the polar bear is!
